best skater soundtrack: hanni el khatib. i've been looking forward to seeing hanni live since seeing his la blogotheque session. boy is crazy talented, helming huf as its creative director, and finds time to belt out rock ditties.  the crowd was less than sold out, but his fans were faithful, especially one gent front and center.  loved when he mentioned he was from la and a fan yelled go lakers, but hanni booooed.  another yelled, "warriors!' and he cheered.  that's right kids, bay area is at hanni's core.  :)  hanni wasn't much for chatting except to introduce his band and contemplate sunday night.  this one was an uber geek and yelled "game of thrones" when he ask what was on that evening. it's true hanni all the kids are watching the starks in bated breath. anyhoot, here's hanni rockin one my favs "dead wrong".

 

giants vs. mets

sadly we lost 5-4 on a walk off error. it was great to see buster though even though he made said game ending error.  the mets did make a huge error at the top of the ninth that allowed us to tie up, but still the inevitable loss.  giants were lackluster with their fielding.  let's shape up g-men!

none the less, it was a gorgeous day at the ballpark.  the schneiders were in town. mrs. schneider brushed shoulders with timmy in her hotel elevator.  she's the one digging in her bag on the left.  thanks to my crew (even the mets fans) for a great day at the ballpark.

this weekend was a farewell to grace as she gets ready to go off to kuwait.  there were trips to ikea, costco and home depot, but it was an epic hog roast in her backyard that i won't soon forget.

giverny

early fltgc: the hole for giverny.  the atmospheric exhibit by e.v. day and kembra pfahler has kembra in nothing but hot pink body paint posing in monet's famed gardens.  issy shot the instagram on right of a replica of the famed japanese bridge.  check it out it's like being in giverny without the plane ride.  thanks jac for the rec!

first saturday: keith haring

must monthly nabe outing: first saturday at brooklyn museum.  this month was extra packed despite the holiday weekend because of one keith haring retrospective.  i love first saturday because it brings together a cross section of brooklyn - families, youths and couples.  all packed into the morris a. and meyer schaprio wing for a look back at the cartoony impressions of this sva alum that changed street art ever more. 

congrats wildcats!

though i started late to the dance, the wildcats pulled it out for me and my other fav (though i didn't pick them for my final two), the kansas jayhawks, were formidable opponents. 

visitors

while archiving pics, i realized i've been fortunate to have quite a few friends roll into new york this year already.  it's always hard to get home, so i'm always jazzed when pals visit. looking foward to more visitors in the months ahead.  come out!!!
