what a game! in the second half, i was ready for them to lose to save themselves from another fight saturday with the seahawks. kittle was out. trent williams was out early in the first. upton stout was out in the third. ricky pearsall also exited briefly in the first. honestly, just wanted the team to come out with minimal injuries.
the game was a shoot out with touchdown after touchdown. the early pick six was rough and it would haunt us. it felt like the previous colts game where traded touchdowns but last night it continued to the final minutes. i was impressed by our young defense to close out the bears, who are known to come from behind in the final seconds. we were able to shut them down.
looking to saturday, it will be another tough defense but with our red hot offense is it enough? it's funny the niners made the super bowl with some of our strongest defensive groups and loss. i've always favored defense over offense but if we keep putting up these numbers this might be the path to the lombardi? i'm thinking to far ahead though. we won't have bosa or warner, like we did when we beat them early in the season. kittle left early that game and jake tonges caught the winning touchdown. we also still had jake moody as our kicker back when. we are different teams. i would argue better offense, but a heavily short strung defense. this defense has done wonders despite its handicaps. fred warner was on the field for the final minutes and gave the defense a pregame speech. he will likely do soon saturday too. there's rumblings that he might be available if the niners make a late playoff run. that's something to play for the captain.
