agnes martin @ guggenheim

i wasn't very familiar with agnes martin before seeing the show at the guggenheim. her simple style manages to conjure what she calls "abstract emotions" - happiness, love and experiences of innocence, freedom, beauty and perfection. i would study the works in great detail despite its lack of composition. it sent me on a zen-like state on this first day of 2017. something to keep with me for the rest of the year.

loving love | gratitude | blessings

agnes said of her work, "i would like [my pictures] to represent beauty, innocence and happiness. i would like them all to represent that. exaltation."
