wasn't super familiar with guo pei until i saw the dress rihanna wore and a few pieces that recently were a part of the met's heavenly bodies exhibit. pei's attention to chinese techniques in beading and embroidery is unparalleled.

mass moca

mass moca has been on my to do list since i've moved to new york. it's taken me a decade to finally visit the multi-gallery space housed in 19th-century factory buildings. i missed the nick cave exhibit but the vast spaces were enough to keep me content. james turrell's into the light, tayn simon's a cold hole, spencer finch's cosmic latte, and the sol lewitt retrospective were highlights.

made it on the last day of the sanlé sory exhibit at yossi milo. caturing portraits of the youth following the independence of burkina faso from france. set beautifully in monochromatic walls, subjects pose with music icons and don fashion from street to traditional.
