mass moca

mass moca has been on my to do list since i've moved to new york. it's taken me a decade to finally visit the multi-gallery space housed in 19th-century factory buildings. i missed the nick cave exhibit but the vast spaces were enough to keep me content. james turrell's into the light, tayn simon's a cold hole, spencer finch's cosmic latte, and the sol lewitt retrospective were highlights.

urban oasis: high line

best getaway from the big apple hustle: high line. shar's been anticipating the opening of this park aloft the fray of chelsea and meatpacking. so it's not exactly an escape on the weekends when the crowds descend, but i was lucky enough to get out early for the long weekend. jen was too, so we met for a stroll on the new green park. there was a scare at 2 when a crazy thunderstorms came in, but cleared up by rendezvous time. the chairs were even almost entirely dry too. CRAZY!


then after we completed the high line from 20th to 12th, we hit helmut lang in the hopes of seeing our long lost friend zon. he was not there and the rain started again. perfect timing = window of high line goodness minus the crazy crowds.
