return to fltgc: dia soho for walter de maria's broken kilometer. shar enjoys all things dia. dia: beacon. the dan flavin art institute (i still have to make that trip, so who's down for fall hamptons trip?). so when i heard about this new installation just around the corner from my work, guess who was down?
jac said she's disappointed when she sees pictures of a work, and it's really not that much different in real life. i asked jac for her take, and she asked to see the tony advert. she said definitely better in person. so peeps it's jac approved. go!

If you haven't already, you should check out The New York Earth Room, which is by the same guy.
thanks jesse! i haven't yet but i think it shall be the next fltgc.
they had one of his pieces in Soho on West Broadyway for years... I thought it was sortof sweet in a way - I like DIa too.
hey Shar, do you know who KOS were? you might like it...this one guy worked with these kids to do these paintings that were painted over book pages, they were actually really elegant looking.
I'm actually banned for life from the Earth Room. Well, maybe not banned for life, but I did get kicked out. I went there with my former roommate and he thought it would be a good idea to run out onto the dirt. I was so embarrassed because of what he had done that I went out into the stairwell. I looked back in to see if my roommate and his friends were leaving, and the guy who was working there had just seen the footprints. He said we all had to leave, and I guess because he had seen me go outside, he accused me of doing it. I guess they periodically rake the dirt, so there wasn't too much harm done.
