sxsw lullabies

of course, npr has the best coverage of sxsw and these vignettes, sxsw x lullaby are the bestest. also, super psyched for a new mynabirds album.

spring into new tunes

it's finally feeling like spring in new york, but i bet i've just jinxed it. in any case, i'm getting into the seasonal mood with the following bands that are taking on sxsw this week.

st. vincent: SXSW practice

okie dokie this is a treat from npr music. they filmed annie practicing pre-show in austin. view annie strumming "the strangers" and her hammering out "actor out of work". npr doesn't provided code to embed so you have to click on the pic to watch via the npr player. i know a hassle but worth it. also, don't forget to get your tickets for her webster hall gig. can you tell i'm excited?

jason lytle @ sxsw

pleasant am surprise: jason lytle video on npr from sxsw. i cannot express my excitement for jason's forthcoming solo album, yours truly, the commuter. this brought a smile to my face this morning. i hope it does for you too.

sxsw remedy

best remedy for not being at sxsw: st. vincent at webster hall on may 20. what's better than the indie queen of austin on tour for her new album actor to wipe those woes of not being at sxsw this past week. i'm super psyched though i miss seeing annie in a more intimate venue like last time. check out the latest single "the strangers".

actor is disney inspired. it brings back memories of forest friends rambling alongside snow white or aurora (aka sleeping beauty), and one of them falls into a well meeting up with alice for a tea party with the mad hatter. annie kinda looks like snow white in this cae for la blogotheque.
