roosevelt island yo!

best i'm a tourist in my own state: ride the tram to roosevelt island. jenni put the awesome idea in my head to ride the tramway. it is on the ny to do list, so we finally made it out today to ride it. totally fun! it's like an adult amusement park ride really. plus, it's covered by your mta metrocard. we splurged 25 cents for the red bus. we rode the entire route south to north, which was like 10-15 minutes roundtrip. awesome! one will see the lic costco and the farmers market under the bridge.

must after tram eats: patsy's. i've been meaning to try this pizza since i heard the folks from grimaldi's started there. it was aight, but not grimaldi's. it definitely satisfied my pizza craving tho. then, jenni came up with the brilliant idea to have dessert at levain bakery for some awesome cookies that she dreamt about the night before. seriously these cookie were not to be missed and we totally ate them. YUM!

moma: atlantic/pacific

belated fltgc: moma-atlantic pacific. i didn't have a chance to gallery crawl at lunch yesterday. i'm very behind on my fltgc. i blame work and the arctic winds flying off the hudson. so i will crawl in the subway. i've been meaning to check out the installation at my neighboring station for some time. i guess the whole point is to stop during my commute, but i guess i haven't been able to downshift. i suppose it's the new york go, go, go mentality that's soaked in. soooo i've taken a breather to enjoy.

my photos don't do justice so check it you yourself brooklynites. so what if it's just posters. it's fun.

best entertainment on a train ride: BDNQ train from dekalb to canal. sorry the last 20 secs is my boring reflection. apologies from an amateur videographer. don't have final cut pro.

things that make me happy

best morning pick me up: the operator on the 2 train around 8:26am. shar hearts you operator. when i walk in you chime in with "this is how we do it in brooooooklyn". when we hit park place, you always say "transfer to the path to neeeeeeeeeeeew jeeeeeeersey". today you said something extra special and told me "may the holiday spirit be with you". how yoda of you. i can never run fast enough form the back of the train to see and thank him at my transfer point, so until that day comes i wrote the mta:

Hi,

I would just like to sing my praise to the operator of the 2-Train around 8:00 shift to Manhattan. I don't always get his train but when I do it's a delight. I love his welcome "This is how we do it Brooklyn". When we hit Park Place, you always say "transfer to the path to neeeeeeeeeeeew jeeeeeeersey". He really brings a smile to my commute.

Also, on Monday he was kind enough to keep us informed about a delay at Borough Hall. He provided us with clear instruction to alternate route. He chimed in with whatever we needed "to keep moving".

Until I can thank him personally (I'm always at the end of the train before I can get to thank him personally), I hope this message and kudos gets to him.
